It really doesn't matter how big your university is, if you have revenue generating athletic programs, your Athletic Director is one of the most important administrators you have.

For a University like UL-Lafayette, finding the right person to lead you to success if extremely important, because your margin of error is very narrow when it comes to not losing money.

So this news from the Louisiana Radio Network could be worrisome:

"Scott Farmer is out as UL Lafayette’s athletic director. He stepped down after five years.

There were a lot of successes during that time. The football team won four straight bowl games, multiple NCAA Tournament appearances by the baseball and softball programs. Farmer wishes his successor the best of luck.

School president Joseph Savoie they’ll begin interviewing candidates to be A-D in early 2017."
