Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties All the Rage [Photos]

If you've gotten an invitation to an "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" grab an ugly sweater,  put it on and go because that's the latest rage and you're a "with it" popular person. 

This is  one sure way of being the center of attention at the Christmas parties you'll be going to this year. And,  a Vermont woman is capitalizing on this new fad by selling ugly Christmas sweaters on her website. Anne Marie Blackman's creations are truly of the bizarre variety.  Her company even ships worldwide.    You'll no doubt be remembered at this year's Christmas party wearing one of her ugly sweaters just like a person who drinks too much at the office party is remembered for embarrassing antics.

This wildly popular trend has already hit Carthage, Texas, where my almost 19-year-old daughter Casey has received her Ugly Christmas Party invitation.

It's all about wearing the tackiest clothes you can think of  to your Christmas parties.  In fact, Blackman says, " You really can't make a mistake when you're decorating an ugly Christmas sweater."

I beg to differ.  You should see the sweater my daughter is wearing to her Ugly Christmas Sweater party.  No, it didn't come from Blackman's website.  It didn't even come from the Goodwill.  It actually came out of my closet!

In fact, every time my daughters needed tacky clothes for say, " 80s day"  or " nerd day"  at school, they wore clothes from my closet!

Not even a beautiful young woman  could make this sweater look good.  Can you tell it has pads in the shoulders for that totally 80s out of style look?  This sweater is so ugly Goodwill wouldn't take it!
