The trial of Grover Cannon will be put on hold again.

The defense argued that Cannon's desire to fire his lead attorney as the reason for the delay. No new trial date has been set.

Cannon is accused of shooting and killing Shreveport Police Officer Thomas LaValley in August of 2015. He has been charged with 1st degree, and was set to have his trial started today. A trial that has been delayed multiple times.

Today, the trial was delayed once again.

Cannon's defense has been granted numerous delays since he was charged in the murder. This included taking multiple appeals to the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals and even the Louisiana Supreme Court. Through all of the appeals, and changes to Cannon's defense team, the trial has been delayed nearly 3 and a half years.
