The tornadoes that ripped across much of the Midwest and South on Friday, killing 36 people in five states, laid Henryville, Ind., a small town to waste.  But the talk in the parking lot St. Xavier Catholic Church  focused on the future and rebuilding.

The human spirit strives to survive even in the aftermath of deadly tornadoes in 36 states. Here's the breakdown on the death toll: 19 in Kentucky; 12 in Indiana; 3 in Ohio, and one each in Alabama and Georgia. Tornadoes were also reported in Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, North Carolina and Virginia.

It appeared as though the parents of a toddler in New Pekin, Ind.,  had received a miracle when their baby was found in the rubble,  but she later died of head trauma.

The weather in the ArkLaTex over the weekend was sunny with highs in the mid 60s.  We're looking at dry weather through Wednesday,  with the possibly of thunderstorms Thursday and headed into the weekend.
