With 10 albums on the Curb label and almost 20 years later, Tim McGraw‘s days on Curb Records will be ending with the strike of a judge’s gavel.

The battle between McGraw and Curb Records, which has lasted for over a year, will go to trial on November 29, when they’ll argue over McGraw’s right to record while he’s settling his contract dispute with Curb.

It all started when McGraw went into the studio to work on ‘Emotional Traffic,’ his upcoming album. Curb said it was too soon for a new album, and filed suit in May to stop him from completingthe project.  Just one week later, McGraw filed a counter-suit.

It’s a bad situation, but  McGraw is takingit  in stride. “Right now it’s just a matter of letting the legal system handle this,” he said. “All I can do is keep doing what I do. I’ve always been a good, honest guy and done the work the way it needed to be done and fulfilled whatever I’ve been obligated to do. All you can do is hope our good faith pays off in the end.”

Meanwhile, Tim's  calendar is filled with acting projects like his role in the new film ‘Dirty Girl,’ opening this weekend. Acting in movies  is exciting for McGraw, who says, “I relish it, I love it. It’s exhilarating, it’s challenging, it makes me find something within myself that sometimes you don’t know you have. There’s nothing about it that I don’t like, except for the waiting. Sitting around and waiting — I could do without that part.”

There will be  more waiting in McGraw’s future. After his November court date with Curb, they won’t reconvene until next July.
