The Mudbugs aren't the only franchise making news recently with their announced return last week.

The Shreveport Rafters soccer club will take the pitch early in 2016 and yesterday, team president Will Broyles announced Greg Palmer will be the teams' first head coach.  Palmer, a former English club player according to the Shreveport Times, is the Director of Coaching for the U15-U18 Caddo Bossier Soccer Association squads.

The team will hold tryouts on November 7th at Lee Hedges Stadium. Playing in the National Premier Soccer League, a semi-pro league with 80 teams scattered around the country, the Rafters will cut down to their 26-man roster in January.
