What happened in the world of Louisiana sports?

The Golden State Warriors haven’t lost a game at home since November 11, 2014, and that streak continued earlier this morning, as the Warriors defeat the Pelicans 97-87. Golden State now with a 2-0 advantage in this seven game series. The Pelicans started off strong, limiting the Warriors to 31.8 percent shooting, and even lead 28-17 at the end of the first, with Eric Gordon scoring 21 of those 28 points. Anthony Davis in his second playoff game ever, scored 26 points. A-D did everything he could to keep New Orleans in the game. He capped off a 10-0 run in the third quarter, giving the Pelicans a one point lead, but it wasn’t enough. Game Three of the series is Thursday in New Orleans. This is the first time since 1989, the Warriors have taken a 2-0 lead in a playoff series.

After winning a doubleheader on Saturday vs. Georgia, the LSU Tigers return to work tonight against Tulane. The Tigers won earlier this season, in March, against the Green Wave. Can LSU do it again? Exciting times for LSU hoops, for now they’ve got the No. 1 basketball recruiting signing class in the country (according to 24-7 sports dot com), after Madison Prep star player Brandon Sampson announced yesterday he’s signing with LSU.

The annual Tiger Tour made it’s first stop at the Horseshoe Riverdome last night. Several coaches attended, including basketball coach Johnny Jones, and football coach Les Miles. When asked about the improvement of his team, following the Spring Game on Saturday, Miles told the Shreveport Times, “The expectations are pretty high…I looked at the tape Sunday night and Monday. There is broad-based improvement — we have some good players.”

Tonight, Louisiana Tech travels to face a Southland Conference cellar dweller in SFA. The Lumberjacks have lost eight of their last nine. First pitch from Nacodoghes is at 6:30 tonight.
