Adam Schefter broke the news yesterday: La'el Collins is not the father of Brittney Mills child, both of whom were murdered two weeks ago in Baton Rouge. Collins had a relationship with Mills but the paternity test proved he was not the father of Mills child.
Collins was passed over by all 32 NFL teams during the NFL draft after he was expected to be among the top 15 choices.  Schefter first reported a couple of days before the draft Baton Rouge Police wanted to question the former LSU Tiger.  Most likely, Collins draft stock plummeted based on the circumstances surrounding the double-homicide and Collins previous relationship.
Several teams are now courting Collins, who is a free agent, eligible to sign with any team, albeit at a highly discounted price compared to where Collins expected selection slot called for.

Looking for a good beach read this summer? Try the 243 page Ted Wells report on the New England Patriots "deflation situation."   In the report, Wells wrote that Tom Brady "was at least generally aware" of the plan to take some air out of the game balls used in the Patriots-Colts AFC title game.   Wells, in thorough detail, pointed to locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski as the guys who carried out the plan to deflate the balls in order to give Brady a better grip.  The report indicates McNally took the game balls into a bathroom for 100 seconds between the time officials last inspected the footballs before the game started and the opening kickoff.  Wells reports 100 seconds is "an amount of time sufficient to deflate thirteen footballs using a needle."
How involved is Brady?  Text message and phone records from Jastremski and McNally point include conversations centered on Brady insisting on deflating the game balls.  In return, the two Patriots employees received game-gear---cleats and signed footballs from Brady.
After the Colts complained about the air pressure in the balls used in their game with New England, the NFL looked into the accusation.  Wells was tabbed to conduct an investigation which turned up phone records  that indicate Brady and Jastremski talked six times in a three-day span---after not communicating via phone the previous six months.
The NFL has not announced what, if any ramifications Brady and/or the Patriots face.
