We already knew the Saints’ opponents, but now fans of the black and gold know when the Saints will play they suit up. The NFL released the schedule of all 32 teams yesterday. New Orleans will pay a visit to a pair of former LSU Tigers, Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson, when the Saints open their season on the road in Arizona on September 13. The Saints will try to avenge last season’s embarrassing loss in Dallas, when the Cowboys come to the Dome on Sunday Night Football in Week 4. They’ll be featured on Thursday Night Football when the Falcons come to town in Week 6. And, in week 15, the Saints host Detroit at home on Monday Night Football.

 

The Cowboys welcome former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham, Jr. and the Giants to town in Week One on Sunday Night Football. After facing the Saints in Week 4, they host New England.

 

LSU shut out Tulane’s offense, 6-0, last night at The Box. Nine LSU pitchers combined to one hit Tulane, with the lone hit coming in the second. Austin Bain, was the starting pitcher, only pitched two innings and got the W. Connor Hale got an RBI double in the first to score Alex Bregman. Later, in the seventh, Tigers already up 2-zip, Chris Chinea belts a solo bomb, that was his sixth of the season. LSU scored three more in the seventh en route to the win. Thursday night begins a huge showdown with SEC West leader Texas A&M in Baton Rouge.

 

Playoff softball now, Byrd falls to Sulphur 9-1. Calvary over Sterlington 3-2. Northwood fell to Neville 6-5. Many shuts out Rapides 10-0. Pineville takes down Haughton 10-0. Evangel over South Beauregard 6-0.

 

Baseball now, Evangel pitcher Blake Buckman no hits North Webster 10-0. Loyola past North DeSoto 2-1. Lakeside shuts down Lakeview 17-0.

 

In the NBA playoffs, the Rockets defeat the Mavericks 111-99, to take a 2-0 series lead. Dwight Howard scored 28 points for Houston. Game three of this series, Friday night in Dallas.
