NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on Cowboys’ new signee and defensive end Greg Hardy. Hardy, suspended the first 10 games of this season, for using physical force against a woman last year. He’s eligible to return in Week 10, against his former team, the Carolina Panthers. Hardy will appeal the suspension. If the suspension stands, it will cost Hardy over $5 million in bonuses a huge portion of his base salary, according to the Shreveport Times.

 

Tonight in Baton Rouge, a big battle between two SEC powerhouses in LSU and Texas A&M. Both teams are tied with identical records, atop the SEC West standings. Jared Poche will start the series off on the mound for Paul Maineri. Grayson Long, who’s 8-0 this season, going for A&M. Both teams nearly tit for tat in pitching and hitting. This is the Aggies’ first visit to the new Alex Box Stadium in program history, overall this is the first time A&M has visited the capital city of Louisiana since 2004. The game can be seen on ESPN 2, but you can listen to Jim Hawthorne and the crew from the LSU Sports Radio Network only on 1130 The Tiger. Pre game starts at 6, first pitch at 6:30.

 

Johnny Jones adds another offensive toy to his team, who goes by the name of Antonio Blakeney. The 6-4 Blakeney who was previously named the Class 8A player of the year in Florida and was the sunshine state’s Mr. Basketball signed off on a scholarship agreement yesterday afternoon.

 

The Pelicans open up the Smoothie King Center tonight for Game 3 of their series with Steph Curry and the Warriors. In games one and two, the Pelicans played with much intensity and were able to fight their way back from huge deficits. New Orleans handed the Warriors a loss at home back on April 7. The Pelicans and Warriors play tonight in NOLA at 8:30 on TNT.

 

High school softball playoffs: Calvary defeats Sterlington 3-2 in dramatic fashion. The two were tied, until Jordan Fielder’s fly ball that scored Maggie Woodle.
