Longtime high school baseball coach, Shannon Cunningham is back in the dugout after a couple years as a landman.  The former Byrd and Southwood head coach takes over the Calvary baseball program for ex-major leaguer Todd Walker who stepped down after three years at the helm.   Cunningham spent time as an assistant at Calvary under Rodney Traweek, including the 2012 season that finished with a state title--and then the entire staff was let go to in order to bring in Walker.

Cunningham has experienced success at all stops including playoff trips during each of his six years at his alma mater Southwood.  Cunningham told the Shreveport Times, it's "boots on the ground right now, assessing what we have as far as equipment, uniforms, those sorts of things."
