Former Green Oaks Giant, Tre’Davious White was issued the No. 18 jersey by LSU head coach Les Miles on Wednesday night during the first team meeting of the year for the Tigers.

The No. 18 jersey is awarded annually to the player on the LSU football team that displays a selfless attitude while representing the Tigers in a first-class manner both on and off the field. The player is also considered a team leader and someone that the younger players on the team can look up to and learn from.

White, a junior cornerback, enters his third season as a starter for the Tigers and is considered by those involved with the day-to-day operations of the program as one of the most caring, genuine and outstanding young men at LSU.

White follows the legacy of No. 18 that was first established by national champion quarterback Matt Mauck, who donned the jersey during LSU’s BCS Championship season in 2003.  Former Evangel Eagle, Jacob Hester was the first player to wear the jersey as a designated honor, donning the digits throughout his career.  Former Red River Bulldog and current Philadelphia Eagle, Bennie Logan sported the jersey during the 2012 campaign.
