Tim Fletcher: Locals Participate In The U.S. Amateur

The Shreveport Times reports four local junior golfers will be on the course this morning at the Carter Plantation course in hopes of qualifying for the U.S. Amateur at Olympia Field next month.

Loyola alum and key member of LSU's national championship winning golf team, Eric Ricard will join Philip Barbaree of Byrd High School, the recent AJGA Rolex Champion, future Lousiana Tech golfer and former Benton state champion Jacob Wyatt and former Calvary star Nathan Jeansonne who will tee it up for LSU this season, at the qualifying event.

Jeansonne's classmate and fellow future Tiger, Sam Burns has already qualified for the U.S. Amateur based on his Top-50 World Amateur ranking.
