Louisiana Tech softball coach Mark Montgomery gained a pair of local commitments Tuesday---but lost a player signed in the spring.  North DeSoto shortstop Bayli Simon, a .469 hitter for the state champion Lady Griffins, camped at Tech last Fall and this Summer.

She will eventually be joined on the Ruston campus by Calvary junior Emily Daniel.  According to Jimmy Watson of the Shreveport Times, Daniel sat out last season after transferring over from Byrd.  As a freshman with the Lady Jackets, the catcher/third baseman hit .346.

That's the good news... the bad news for Montgomery and the Techsters---Haughton's Hannah Dies, who hit .524 and struck out 91 hitters in 77 innings, enrolled at BPCC after signing with Tech in the spring.  On the bright side? BPCC gets a heckuva player.
