Cooperstown, New York welcomed former Astro Craig Biggio along with Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and John Smoltz to the hallowed Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday.

Biggio's plaque includes the term, "gritty", an adjective obviously suited to his effort throughout his career--for evidence, all it took was one look at his uniform and batting helmet. Houston teammate Brad Ausmus introduced Biggio saying, "The first thing I remember about Craig is, every time he left the batter's box, he ran harder than anyone I'd ever seen."

Smoltz, old number 29 with the Braves, used part of his 29 minute, 29 second speech---how's that for a coincidence---imploring kids and parents to avoid playing baseball year round; to try other sports as well.
