With so many great comics series to read, it can be difficult remembering what happened in a previous issue as we head into the current one. The Recap Page is a feature by ComicsAlliance, meant to help readers recall and remember what they need to know, as a new issue looms.

This week sees the publication of Angela: Queen of Hel #6, written by Marguerite Bennett, with art by Aaron Kim Jacinto and Stephanie Hans, and it's an issue that could take the action in almost any direction after the events of the first five issues, but one thing seems guaranted; a clash with Thor.

The Story So Far: Angela, formerly a character from Spawn, and now a resident of the Marvel Universe, is the sister of the Odinson and Loki. She was raised among the angels of Heven and is a believer in the cosmic balance of debts repaid and nothing done without cost or price.

In Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Angela went on an adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy, crossed swords with the Odinson and Loki, and found out that her angelic transgender sorceress girlfriend, Sera, was seemingly back from the dead. Of course, nothing is ever that simple.

Angela discovered that Sera was trapped in Hel due to a curse that condemns all angels to that dismal plane upon their death, and so Angela did the most sensible thing she could: she went to Hel with the goal of beating the high-loving heck out of everyone that crossed her path and setting Sera – and all other angels with her - free.

What Happened Last Issue? She succeeded.

Spoilers, I guess? I mean, it is right there in the title of the book.

Instead of adjusting Hel’s tax code and implementing a workable jobs program, however, Angela declares that no angel shall ever fall into Hel again, and creates a new resting place for her kind. She uses her power to set Sera free into the land of the living again, and then she abdicates her power, declaring Balder the Brave as regent of Hel.

But a mystery still abides: Angela’s mother, the angel Loriel, is not among the dead. Meaning that she still lives, and so Angela has a new purpose in her life.

But that is a tomorrow-problem. Angela’s today-problems include ensuring she gets to kiss the girl, and finds the right matching dinner set.

What's Next? Assuming we don’t get 22 pages of all-antiquing action in the mighty Marvel manner, it looks as if the abdicated rulership of Hel may not be as stable as it seemed in issue #5. Also, Angela is due to have a confrontation with the new Thor, and since this is a Marvel comic, it’s probably going to involve property damage and a fistfight.

Angela has been a bright spot in a Marvel comics landscape where LGBT representation is thin on the ground. Now that the series has passed an important milestone that would appear to change its entire premise, there is a sense that anything could happen next.

Angela: Queen of Hel #6 is available digitally and in stores March 23, 2016.
