Texas Rangers Lose Mitch Moreland to Ankle Surgery

Injuries have been a constant theme this season for the Texas Rangers.  More bad news came on Sunday that first baseman Mitch Moreland will undergo left ankle surgery on Wednesday and likely be out for three months. 

Moreland had been starting at first base for the injured Prince Fielder, who underwent neck surgery last month and should miss the remainder of the season.

Donnie Murphy will start at first base for now while the club looks at options.
