Tech Men Lose in C-USA Finals, Lady Techsters Fire Weatherspoon

The "Dunkin Dawgs" DID bring home a Conference USA Regular Season Championship this season.. but were unable to win the C-USA tournament which would have given them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Tech lost Saturday 69-60 to Tulsa in the C-USA Finals.  The loss almost certainly keeps Tech out of the NCAA Tournament and a likely bid to the NIT Tournament.

Lady Techsters Fire Teresa Weatherspoon

Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Tommy McClelland has relieved Techster Head Coach Teresa Weatherspoon of her duties, effective immediately Saturday night upon the announcement.

Weatherspoon came to the program in 2008 and was eventually named Head Coach in 2009.  She led the Lady Techsters to NCAA Tournament bids in 2010 and 2011.  But the program has had a losing record in both of the last two seasons including a 12-20 record this year.  The program had never had a losing record before last season.
