A little friendly rivalry between TV juggernauts never hurt, and we’ve certainly seen The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones tossing a bit of healthy shade back and forth. Dead creator Robert Kirkman may have escalated the conflict, however, expressing his disappointment in Thrones author George R.R. Margin giving up book spoilers, for which the zombie mogul now offers a clever mea culpa.

Apart from an army of undead and a few fake-out deaths, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones have little in common beyond vast source material fans are eager to see adapted. That said, Game of Thrones ran out of road early enough that author George R.R. Martin gifted a few unpublished spoilers to HBO, something Dead creator Robert Kirkman says he would never do for AMC.

AMC companion series Fear The Walking Dead has struggled to turn the same heads as its mothership, even as Season 2 now unfurls with the same midseason cliffhanger that The Walking Dead has trafficked in for years. To wit, showrunner Dave Erickson acknowledges fan disappointment with the spinoff, as well where it stands with the main series’ significantly-advanced timeline.

AMC’s rendition remains significantly behind Robert Kirkman’s canon, but a new one-shot The Alien twist for the Grimes family could open up a vast new world by the time AMC’s Walking Dead catches up.

Death on a genre series is increasingly difficult to accept these days, something The Walking Dead learned the hard way in Season 6 when fans easily deduced Glenn’s survival from an apparently-grisly demise. That super fan-sleuthing again reared its head with the Season 6 finale, but series star Lauren Cohan says viewers may be wasting their time picking apart the audio of Negan’s now-famous kill.

The Walking Dead has more mysteries to address in Season 7 than who fell under Negan’s bat “Lucille,” namely those mysterious armored friends encountered by Morgan and Carol. Comic fans likely know their identity, though the series itself may have leaked two fan-favorite additions for Season 7, who might roar our as early as the trailer.

Fires are still raging among The Walking Dead fandom after Sunday’s cliffhanger finale “Last Day on Earth,” which obscured a major death until the seventh season this coming fall. We’ve heard showrunners back up the decisions, but thousands of fans are still demanding resolution, drafting an actual petition for AMC to reveal the victim.

Outrage over The Walking Dead Season 6 finale has barely cooled, but already AMC has in mind a delivery date for the whole Season 6 she-bang, including Negan’s F-bombs. The Walking Dead: The Complete Sixth Season will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD this August, while you can see the cover art right now.
