Replacement Refs

There are plenty of sports fan who would love to attack an umpire or an official but most wouldn't go through with it if presented the opportunity. However, one Ukrainian soccer fan attending the Chernomorets/FC Metalist match this week decided to attack a linesman and nearly strangled him to death.

The NFL and and the NFL Referees Association have agreed to a contract that will send referees back to the field this weekend, according to NFL.com. There is a consensus developing that if NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doesn't bring back the striking referees soon, folks are going to stop watching football because the replacement refs have been so stunningly horrible. Replacement refs awarded the Seattle Seahawks a last-second touchdown on a Hail Mary last night. There was controversy as to wheather Green Bay Packers safety M.D. Jennings intercepted the ball.

The current NFL season has been marred by horrible officiating that has effected the outcome of several games including last night's Monday Night Football game.
