On an outstanding and historic night for college basketball in Northwest Louisiana the Northwestern State Demons upset the Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks 68-66. With the victory, the Demons punch their ticket for March Madness, while SFA who had the best scoring defense in the country will head to the NIT Tournament.

All four top regional seeds — Kentucky, North Carolina, Syracuse and Michigan State— remain alive as the 2012 NCAA tournament begins the regional semifinal round on Thursday.
