We do a lot of reading between the lines when it comes to the divide between Marvel’s cinematic and TV branches, but rarely does an actor out-and-out wish death to a character on either side. Yes, Nick Fury may quietly arrange for S.H.I.E.L.D. to take out Foggy Nelson, as Samuel L. Jackson voices his disdain for the Daredevil character.

Neither Marvel nor Netflix have made particularly clear how the future Defenders series will be scheduled, following Luke Cage’s September premiere, current Iron Fist production, or the others awaiting new seasons, but has Daredevil come to the rescue? Charlie Cox says The Defenders will shoot later this year, potentially setting us up for a 2017 premiere.

Say what you will about a lacking connections between Marvel’s various live-action properties, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Netflix’s Daredevil have consistently managed to work in winking references to one another.
