Many iconic TV themes are instrumentals but did you know many of those themes actually had lyrics?

It was today in 1960 that the Andy Griffith Show premiered on CBS Television. It ran for 249 episodes and is my favorite television show of all time.

George Lindsey, best known as Goober Pyle on the Andy Griffith show has died at the age of 83. My favorite show with Goober Pyle, was when Gomer Pyle introduced him to Sheriff Andy Taylor. Goober did his impersonations of Carey Grant, Edward G. Robinson and Chester from Marshall Dillon.

To me, TV just ain't what it used to be. I believe the best era of television was when I was growing up in the 1960's, with shows like "Andy Griffith",  "Gunsmoke" and many others. Today I can't find anything as good those two examples with hundreds of channels to choose from.
