The flooding rains continue across the Shreveport/Bossier area today, but we've already had record rainfall.

With the rain we already have, and the forecasted rainfall, Bossier and Webster Parish officials have taken steps to keep everyone safe. This was posted today on the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Facebook page:

A state of emergency has been declared in Bossier and Webster parishes due to the inclement weather conditions that have caused flooding throughout both parishes.

Wanda Bennett, president of the Bossier Parish Police Jury, said the Bossier Parish courthouse in Benton will be closed today (Wednesday, March 9) including the 26th Judicial District Court, Bossier Clerk of Court, Section 8 housing and the Bossier Parish library system.

In Webster, the parish courthouse in Minden is also closed.
