With the state in the midst of a deep financial crisis, citizens across Louisiana can be assured that everyone connected is doing their best to pinch pennies and spend wisely, right? Well, according to State Treasurer John Kennedy...not so much.

Earlier this week, Treasurer Kennedy posted the following on his Facebook page, along with the photo above:

"In 2015, the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism spent $350,000 of your taxpayer dollars on this sculpture for the University Medical Center, the new Charity Hospital in New Orleans. It was designed by artist Dale Chihuly of Tacoma, Washington. It is a very nice sculpture, and a totally inappropriate use of taxpayer dollars when we are supposed to be broke."

So, what do you think? Is the sculpture in the photo with Mr. Kennedy worth more than a third of a million dollars...of YOUR tax money?
