LSU Sophomore, and former Calvary standout, Sam Burns was named the SEC Golfer of the Year this week.

During his time a Calvary, he was tabbed for greatness, leading his team to a handful of State Championships, while at the same time bringing home multiple individual State Titles. Heading off to LSU sent signals to many that he'd be taking the same level of success with him, and now that is coming to fruition. Here's more from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"Shreveport native Sam Burns was voted Southeastern Conference golfer of the year by the league’s coaches. Burns is the fifth player in school history to achieve such an honor. Burns is ranked as the second best player in the country as the team heads into NCAA regional play."
