Shreveport native Kendrick Farris set an American record with a total of 377kg on his way to victory at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

In the 94kg weight class, Farris had a total of 377kg total, setting a new record by 4kg.

Farris, a two-time Olympian, now has a spot in the upcoming Pan American Championships in Colombia. It is there he will to secure a trip to a third straight Olympics.
