The Shreveport Farmers Market opens this Saturday at Festival Plaza.

The tomatoes and cucumbers will be hot items as vendors come from all over the region to sell their home grown goods at our local market.

The market features more than 150 booths of locally-grown produce, meats and more.

You can even find honey, plants, artisan foods, arts and crafts and a Market Cafe. Opening day will also feature some live music by Twang Darkly.

New this year is a visit by the Bookmobile. It will be under the Spring Street Bridge. It will be at the farmers market on the first Saturday of each month.  LifeShare Blood Center will also be on hand to take your donations.

The market will be open Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon June 3-August 26 (with the exception of June 17th).

There’s an ATM on site, and some vendors accept credit cards.
