Shreveport, Louisiana country music singer Claude King passed away this morning around 5:30. He was 90.

King was one of the original stars on the Louisiana Hayride, which aired on KWKH, and where Hank Williams Sr. and Elvis Presley got their start in the country music business.

Claude King is best known for his smash hit "Wolverton Mountain," recorded in 1962.

Claude and his wife Barbara had just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

According to knoxnews, "The couple's eldest son, Duane King, said his father was found unresponsive in his bed early Thursday morning at his home in Shreveport."
