Senior Day at the State Fair in Shreveport

10 am to 3 pm in the Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport

The third annual “Senior Day at the State Fair” event will take place on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 10 am to 3 pm in the Hirsch Coliseum located at 3701 Hudson Avenue in the Louisiana State Fair Grounds in Shreveport. This event is proudly presented by The Best of Times – senior newsmagazine and radio show and The State Fair of Louisiana.

Persons 50 and older are invited to attend this event with FREE parking, FREE admission to the event, and FREE admission to the State Fair midway.

Though admission is FREE for this event – please help those in need by bringing one or more canned goods to donate to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana at the registration booth located inside of the main entrance of the Hirsch Coliseum.

There will be lots of fun, entertainment, and information -- including State Fair Midway performers, musical entertainment from both choirs and soloists, presentations, games shows, free health screenings, flu and pneumonia shots(limited number will be available), many giveaways , information from over 100 exhibitors, and over 150 door prizes will be given away. (Note: A Medicare card is required for “no charge” flu and pneumonia shots.)

During the event, contestants will participate on stage to win prizes on the “Keep or Swap the Brief Case” game shows. There will be several grand door prizes awarded to those lucky attendees who are eligible based upon visiting a minimum number of exhibitors.

At 12 noon, the winners of The Best of Time’ Mega Give-away contest will be announced to win two round-trip airline tickets from Shreveport to Las Vegas, Orlando, or Daytona Beach courtesy of Allegiant Airlines; a four wheel scooter and scooter life for automobile courtesy of AllMed Mobility; and other prize packages totaling over $7,000!
