A unanimous vote in the Senate on an abortion bill. The measure would ban the sale of transport of fetal tissue from an abortion. Bossier Senator Ryan Gatti sponsored the bill and it won final passage on a 33-0 vote.

The bill is now headed to the governor's desk.

Gatti drafted the bill after an outcry over undercover videos, released by an anti-abortion group, which purported to show Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of aborted fetal body parts in other states.

The organization denied the allegation, saying the videos were misleading.

Anyone violating the law would face a prison sentence of at least 10 years. The ban doesn't apply to donations of fetal tissue for stem cell research or umbilical cord blood.

This new law takes effect August 1.
