When the New Orleans Saints spent a First Round pick this year on offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk (Wisconsin), it caused a lot of fans to question the Saints' draft strategy. With defense being a major need, many thought the team was going to need to go defensive heavy in the first 3 rounds.

But looking at the draft NOW, that draft pick will go down as a brilliant move.

One of the biggest issues for the Saints over the last 3-4 season has been staying healthy, and having depth. So even if the Ramczyk pick was strictly for depth, it's already paying off. If the idea was that he was going to be better than what they had, we'll need to see that play out still. But as of late-June, it would appear Ramczyk will get a shot to start early.

Here's why, according to the Louisiana Radio Network:

"NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Terron Armstead is expected to miss four to six months due to shoulder surgery. The report said the procedure is scheduled for today and will repair a torn labrum."
