Saints Safety Jairus Byrd Placed on Season Ending IR

The Saints bad defense may have just gotten worse. The team's biggest acquisition this off-season was safety Jairus Byrd and now he is done for the season.

The Saints placing the pro-bowler on season ending IR. Byrd tore his lateral meniscus ligament during practice on Thursday.

Byrd signed a six year, $54 million contract with the Saints in July.  His $26.3 million dollar guarantee was the highest of any free-agent signing this off-season.
