WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) — The New Orleans Saints are bringing in defensive tackle David Hunter, who had worked out with the club earlier this week.

The move, confirmed by Hunter's agent, Garriet Blair on Tuesday, comes shortly after an apparent right knee injury to newly signed defensive tackle Austin Brown. A former Arena Football player with Orlando, Brown went down during his first Saints practice and was carted away. The injury occurred during a one-on-one drill against offensive guard Mike McGlynn.

The 25-year-old Hunter said coaches had given his workout good reviews, but the Texas native left West Virginia on Monday, only to be called back a day later.

Hunter played in college with the Houston Cougars from 2008-11. He was on the Houston Texans' regular-season roster for part of 2012, but did not play.
