Rough night for the LSU baseball team last night as they were blasted by South Carolina 11-0 in Columbia.

Tigers starting pitcher Zack Hess gave up three runs in six innings, while the bullpen was torched for six runs in the eighth inning.

LSU was held to just two hits all night. South Carolina freshman Logan Chapman tossed 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball against the Tigers. After that, the Gamecocks bullpen shut down the Tigers, giving up only one walk to wrap up the night.

The only two hits of the night for the Tigers belong to Austin Bain and Hal Hughes.

With all of the fireworks off Gamecocks bats, they only had one home run all night, which was actually the game winning run, even though it was a solo home run from outfielder Carlos Cortes in the bottom of the first inning. While a total of four South Carolina batter recorded RBIs throughout the night.
