Veteran linebacker James Laurinaitis has agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints, as first reported by NFL Network reporter Rand Getlin.

Laurinaitis tweeted out the news from his social media account.

The 29-year old Laurinaitis has spent his entire 7 year career with the St. Louis Rams (now Los Angeles Rams) after they selected him out of Ohio State in the 2nd round of the 2009 draft.

He played middle linebacker during his time with the Rams, racking up 853 tackles, 16.5 sacks and 10 interceptions, starting every game during his career.

His numbers have slowly declined in recent years. He finished 2015 with 60 solo tackles and a sack.

Laurinaitis visited the Washington Redskins, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears, but ultimately decided on the Saints.

2nd year pro Stephone Anthony played middle linebacker for the Saints last year, so it's unsure where Laurinaitis will fit in New Orleans scheme.

Laurinaitis is known to wrestling fans as the son of Joe, better known as Road Warrior Animal.
