The Texas Rangers season is over, after losing 5-2 to Tampa in a tiebreaker game that decided the second AL wildcard spot. It counted as the 163rd regular season game, which means the Rangers miss the post-season for the first time in four years.

Texas was shut down by Rays pitcher David Price who went the distance and gave up only 2 runs.

Ranger outfielder Nelson Cruz returned from suspension but was 0-4 in the DH role.

Tampa Bay will now play Cleveland in the American League wildcard game.
