KWKH legend Randy Travis will be in concert this Friday night at the Horseshoe Riverdome.  And the country favorite will celebrate his 25th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry next month.

Travis will perform with Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner, among others during the celebration on October 4th.

The artist released a duets album entitled, "Anniversary Celebration,"  in June.  On the Opry, Travis will be singing songs from the album with his guests, which also include John Anderson, Connie Smith, Joe Stampley and Gene Watson.

By the way,  John Anderson will be in concert November 5th at the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport,  performing on the KWKH stage in a free concert.

Travis was inducted into the Opry years ago,  following the traditional "On the Other Hand," and "1982."   I remember when Randy was just starting out and fans compared his voice to George Jones and Alan Jackson.

"Forever and Ever, Amen," "Diggin Up Bones," and "Deeper than the Holler," are my favorite early Travis hits.
