‘Psyco Mama’ Performed by My Friend Ricky Whitley [VIDEO]

I happened to stumble onto a music video on YouTube that made my day. Its by a friend of mine, Ricky Whitley, from back home.

Ricky Whitley and I played music together from time to time in out teens and early twenties. Ricky is from Columbus, Georgia which is right across the Chattahoochee river from Phenix City, Alabama, where I'm from. We both used to listen to Boo Baron on WDAK AND Val McGinness on WCLS.

Some years ago, Ricky recorded a song called "Psyco Mama" that was written by Leon Payne who used to perform on the Louisiana Hayride.

Leon Payne wrote songs that were recorded by Hank Williams, Elvis, George Jones, Johnny Cash and others. I didn't know that Ricky had also made a video with the song so I was surprised to find it. I hope you like it.

I found Ricky's video because Richard Thomson, one of my Facebook friends had posted another version of the song by Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman. When I watched it I knew the song and started doing some rearch on YouTube and found Ricky's version.
