Large chunks of Louisiana will be boycotting the Super Bowl today.

After the worst blown call in NFL history stopped the New Orleans Saints from taking their spot opposite the New England Patriots, many Saints fans wrapped it up for their season after that game.

But in West Monroe, they will be watching the Super Bowl, and rooting for a hometown hero.

West Monroe's own Andrew Whitworth, offensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams, is one of their veteran leaders. Whitworth, who also starred at LSU, was drafted into the NFL in 2006. He's played most of his career in Cincinnati, but left the Bengals for the Rams in 2017. In his NFL career, he's a 4 time Pro Bowl selection, and 2 time first team All Pro.

At LSU, Whitworth helped lead the Tigers to the 2003 National Championship. If Whitworth and the Rams pull it off, he will become the 16th former LSU Tiger to have won both a national title and a Super Bowl.
