It's high times in Natchitoches after NSU's upset win over Louisiana Tech.  I talked with Demon Head Coach Jay Thomas about the win and the communities reaction.

NSU Head Coach Jay Thomas speaks every Thursday at noon at the NSU Demon Quarterback Club Luncheon held at Superior Steakhouse.  That's where I caught up with Thomas and was able to ask him about the Demons big victory over Louisiana Tech.

Coach Thomas talked about the euphoric reaction the NSU community has had since the win.  It's not only NSU's first win against their old rival in 30 years, but also the Demons first win over an FBS school in 17 tries.

I asked Thomas about the "mis-fired" fireworks at Joe Aillet Stadium after the game. Usually reserved for a Bulldog win, fireworks went off after the Demons won on  a field goal as time expired.  Thomas jokingly said he had nothing to do with it.

The Demons are idle this week and start Southland Conference play on next week against Southeastern.  Thomas said the bye couldn't come at a better time as his Purple Swarm defense is banged up.  The coach said he had 20 players in the training room following the win in Ruston.
