NIT says NO to LSU Basketball

The LSU Men's basketball team was not selected Sunday night to the NIT Tournament, thus ending head coach Johnny Jones inaugural season with the Tigers.

The Tigers finished 19-12 overall and 9-9 in the SEC.  In the SEC tournament LSU beat Georgia but lost to Florida.  The Tigers started 0-4 in league play but finished strong.  LSU won three SEC road games this season.

Head coach Johnny Jones said,

Like a lot of other teams this time of year, we are certainly disappointed that our season has come to an end and that our seniors have played their last game. But this will serve as a motivator for our returning players who will start preparing for next season immediately. We look forward to continuing to build the LSU Basketball program to be able to compete in the future at the highest level.
