The event is free and open to the public.

Gingrich also is in Shreveport today for a fund raiser at a private home owned by some of his supporters, according to the candidate's staff.

Yesterday,   Gingrich held a news conference at the Shreveport Hilton.  He bashed Obama's energy plan.  Gingrich said with the discovery of the Haynesville Shale and its decrease in production costs, Shreveport is in a position to become an energy player.

"The production of natural gas has gone up substantially since 2008," he said in his local stop. "The price has dropped dramatically. The production value can drive down the price, the question is can you do the same thing with oil? I think you will see a tremendous shift, which effects the Shreveport area, in the use of natural gas. The United State should have in the next couple of years, the least expensive energy economy in the world."
