Could you imagine the New York Yankees, WITHOUT the Steinbrenner name attached to it? For certain, I sure can't!

In wake of the sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers to Magic Johnson & company, reports are surfacing of the current generation of Steinbrenners' looking to sale one of the most famous sports franchises worldwide!

Rumors out of New York state that the Steinbrenners are looking to take off the heavy financial hold.

Hal Steinbrenner completely denies the report, stating "...it is complete fiction. Me and my family have no intention to sell the Yankees and expect it to be in the family for years to come."

While Hal denies the reports, his other half and part owner Hank Steinbrenner, rarely attends games anymore, and was not on board with the Yanks re-signing pricey third baseman, Alex Rodriguez, and others around Major League Baseball feel his best interest in the Yankees anymore.

The same unnamed source who gave this rumor to the New York Daily News, stated that "Hal is a smart business man, and I'm just not sure that he considers baseball to be a smart business."

What do you think? Would you be sad if the Steinbrenners' didn't own the New York Yankees?
