The new Shreveport Mudbugs reached back to their glory days by adding two stars of the "old" Mudbugs franchise to their coaching staff.

General Manager Scott Muscutt announced that former goaltender Kenny Carroll will be added as goalie coach and ex-Bugs forward Jason "Soupy" Campbell will join the team as assistant coach to Karlis Zirnis.

Carroll, who spent a total of nine season with the Mudbugs, is considered one of the top goalies in Central Hockey League history. He currently lives in the Dallas area and is occasionally practice goalie for the NHL Dallas Stars.

Campbell played center for the Bugs for six years, and three times scored more than 20 goals in a season.
