Ah, chicken.  The one food that everybody can agree on.  It's low in fat, high in protein, and you can cook it a hundred ways.  It's so omnipresent that whenever we eat any exotic white meat whose flavor we can't describe we say, "It tastes like chicken."

Everybody likes chicken, and that's why there have been so many restaurateurs over the years that have tried to create unique tasty chicken recipes and concoctions to lure diners.  There's Colonel Sanders' famous secret recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken and Popeye's spicy cajun chicken.  There are restaurants devoted to specific parts of a chicken like Buffalo Wild Wings or Wing Stop.  Now you can find eateries that serve only the fingers of chickens like Raising Cane's.  And remember that short-lived restaurant chain made famous in Seinfeld?  Kenny Rogers Roasters rotisserie chicken. (BTW--It's still very popular is Asia, for some reason; over 150 stores are still in business there.)

But here's one you probably haven't seen before--a restaurant devoted entirely to chicken salad.  Paula Deen named it the best chicken salad in the country in 2015. Please welcome the all-new Chicken Salad Chick which opens on Youree Drive in Shreveport on May 16th.

This must be some good chicken salad because Chicken Salad Chick is ranked #37 out of the 5000 fasted-growing companies in the U.S. according to Restaurant News. Founder Stacy Brown came up with the idea when her local county health department in Alabama informed her that she couldn't sell her popular salad out of her home.  The first Chicken Salad Chick opened in 2008, and there are now 60 stores across the Southeast.

There are a number of giveaways and deals for customers during grand opening week, including free Chicken Salad for a year for the first customer.  For all the details, visit the Chicken Salad Chick web site.
