The Shreveport Mudbugs stepped on the ice Sunday night in a must win, Game 5 against the Corpus Christi IceRays. And not only did they get revenge against the team that bumped them out of the playoffs last year, they got a key win.

The Bugs were able to close out the series at home on George's Pond with a 2 to 1 win. The Bugs were down by 1 early in the game, but goals by Cam Cook and Ryan Burnett pushed the Mudbugs past Corpus and into the second round of the NAHL playoffs.

However, there is still a lot of hockey left to be played. The Bugs have a few days to celebrate and refocus before game one of the South Division finals against the LoneStar Brahmas.

The first game in that series will be Friday night at George's Pond. Tickets will be available soon at the Mudbugs' box office, all Brookshire's locations and online. You can find more details on the upcoming series on the Shreveport Mudbugs' Facebook page.

In the mean time, can I get two claps and a Ric Flair? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
