Attention parents, your child's new favorite toy may not be safe.

What started off as a great way to get children motivated to stay active has turned into a nightmare for many parents. According to the US Consumer Safety Product Commission, McDonald's is recalling millions of "Step It!" fitness trackers after many children began to experience skin burns and irritations on their wrists and arms. The company is recalling 29 million of these toys.

The move comes after the fast-food giant received more than 70 reports.

The toy being recalled is described by USA Today as an activity band that straps on like a watch. It comes in six different colors. The device tracks movement and even blinks with every motion. The faster the wearer moves, the more it blinks its lights. The toy is both made for McDonald's and distributed exclusively by McDonald's.

And to think of all the burns, blisters and stinky feet we endured as kids thanks to Jelly shoes in the 90's!
