LSU sophomore outfielder Zach Watson has been awarded a Gold Glove by Rawlings for his stellar play in the outfield last season. The Ruston native did not commit an error and threw out six base runners. Watson is the fourth LSU player to receive a Gold Glove Award.

He was not the only SEC player to make this year's Division 1 Gold Glove squad, he was joined on the squad by Mississippi State outfielder Jake Mangum.

Watson was the only Louisiana representative on the Gold Glove lists, but a few Ark-La-Tex players won Gold Gloves in their Divisions as well.

UT-Tyler senior first baseman Alex Bishop, Panola second baseman Michael Lawson, and Tyler Junior College sophomore first baseman Michael Morissette also won Gold Gloves this year. Bishop won the Division III Gold Glove, Lawson won a Junior College Division 1 Gold Glove, and Morissette won his Gold Glove in Junior College Division III.
