A walk off single helped give LSU's baseball team the win Friday night in Baton Rouge.

Fans gathered at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field were treated to a teeter-totter match up between LSU and the University of Tennessee.

The Vols led the Tigers 2-0 up until the 4th inning, when the Tigers' bats caught fire.

Tyler Moore hit one down the right field foul line that drove a run in. Following right after was a smash hit double to left by Kramer Robertson that helped tie up the game. But the Tigers weren't finished.

Outfielder Andrew Stevenson hit one up the middle that evaded capture and drove in two more runs. Before the inning wrapped, the Tigers scored a fifth run courtesy of Alex Bregman.

Tennessee fought back in the following innings, taking the lead again (6-5) by top of the sixth. In the seventh, UT put one more run on the board, making it 7-5.

A flurry of hits by the Tigers closed the gap by one in the bottom of the seventh.

By the top of the ninth, the game was tied, 7-7. Tigers pitcher Joe Broussard chalked up back-to-back-to-back Ks to silence the Vols' bats.

In the bottom of the ninth, center fielder Mark Laird came through with a base hit on two outs that drove in the winning run for the Tigers.

Final score: LSU 8, University of Tennessee 7.
